Theft Prevention

You might think that the biggest issue that makes bikes get stolen is a lack of security for bikes, but a recent study has found something entirely different. It's amazing how long passers-by will allow someone to attack a bike with a hacksaw before anyone intervenes.

I guess the lesson is that people need to take responsibility to at least take notice of something like this going on. I'm not suggesting that confronting a thief is the best plan as many are undoubtedly a little harder and scarier than the floppy-haired hipster in the film and noone needs to end up stabbed for the sake of a bike, but even taking an interest could put someone off as much as a hefty lock (or rather, as well as).
