Dear Internet, I have a confession. I think I might have become a hipster. I accidentally bought a coloured chain. It’s purple.

I imagine I’m going to have to roll up my sleeves and trousers and wear some fancy socks, as well as cultivating facial hair and an interest in pretentious art, bars and bands.

I’m sorry.

Hopefully by the time you read this it’ll be on the bike and the blog from now on will be decidedly cooler and only about fixies and neon bits.

Enjoy it. I promise it was an accident. Possibly it won’t even happen as my chain tool was not up to the 1/8th chain and I’m waiting for a new one that might handle it.

In other, less cool, news the London Cycling Campaign have designed a lorry.

Also if anyone was sick of the male-focus of the bike industry (was anyone?) there’s a new magazine launching on Friday called Women’s Cycling. You might argue that it would be better to just see more women in the existing magazines, but that’s not really how the journalism industry works.. The mag’s from Wild Bunch Media who do other Women’s sports publications so if you read them I guess you know what to expect.
