The tweed industry is booming. What (you might be asking) the hell does this have to do with cycling? But it turns out that cycling, specifically the “tweed run”, is largely responsible for the buoyant industry in Scotland.
Talking of Scotland. Turns out it’s pretty good for cycling.
Closer to where I am, there’s a new trail at Aston Hill which looks pretty full-on, and you can see how it was made in this video.
While good, the trail might not be at the standard of these Alpine trails, and are unlikely to get too many riders as good as Ben Reid.
As this has become a bit of a video-loaded day it feels appropriate to include this one. Is this one of those genius ideas that we’ll soon see everywhere, or just not? I mean I can see the appeal if it really works and feels like a normal tyre but it seems too good to be true.
Sometimes bikes with motors are worth a look, in particular when they are being ridden in this way. I now want to get to the cinema soon.
