#fourbythree

Now, I’m not here to criticise (well I sort-of am, which passes for entertainment around here) and I agree with anyone who says the roads should be safer. I also have loads of respect for what Shanaze Reade does and can do on a bike but this irritated me:

I think it’s because I think that “setting an example” should also include good spelling.

Also I should clearly get out more.

I blame the weather.

As a clever experiment in social media and online video content, Redbull (who do both pretty well) are asking you to tweet with the hashtag #fourbythree to unlock extra content form the Athertons. This both raises awareness and rewards it, which is good. Look here.

Rachel Atherton was also on actual television last night where she raced a guy on a commuter bike. He took the road. She went offroad but seemed to have to push a bit and avoid walkers and dogs. He won, proving, in the programme's mind, that roads are better. This avoided the point that Rachel probably had much more fun, looked cooler, and was still close to winning.
