The second rest day in the Tour (or third if you count the fairly non-race on Monday) came yesterday and with every one preparing for the last tough stages to keep Wiggins in yellow it seems like time to look around at other stories.
The Tour of Britain (cackhandedly) announced the UK teams who will be racing in September.
It was announced that in cases of grid-lock cyclists would, in fact, be allowed in Olympic Lanes in London.
If you want to find out just how rough your local roads are then a good way seems to ride them with a cut and bruised elbow. I can confidently confirm that they are rough round me.
Finally, for a rest day, it seems right to mention that Rapha’s permanent cycle club will open this weekend in Soho just in time for the last stages of the Tour de France. Is it just me who think this looks like a project running late and not opening in time for the whole Tour?
Meanwhile in France the almost inevitable happened.
