Follow the Leader

Yesterday’s stage was as dull as a professional bike race with the top riders of the world can be.

A break went, Sky had no reason to bring it back and everyone else sat back and cruised home.

I guess this means it’s worth looking at the other big issues of the last few days. Two of the biggest teams seem to have riders who are not leading the team but feel they could do better than the actual leaders.

Chris Froome gave an interview to L’Equipe where he claimed he was stronger than Wiggins .

The next day BMC rider Tejay van Garderen seemed to imply something similar as he failed to wait for Evans, who was stranded with multiple punctures.

Both van Garderen and Froome are strong riders and forces for the future, but for now they are reined in to support their team leaders. We’ll see what happens if either Wiggins or Evans has a major issue in the Pyrenees.
