Impatience

I have suffered for my impatience.

You see, in my hurry to get the bike fixed and ridable I went out and bought a new headset as I’ve discussed earlier in the week. I wrote off the old crownrace as lost in the post.

I shouldn’t have been so quick to do this as it turned up in the post a few days late. This restores all my faith in the excellent customer service from Evans Suspension Centre, although annoys me that I didn’t wait for it to come through. Still there’s probably no harm in a new headset and it does feel smooth like never before.

Talking of being impatient, there was a fine example of why it’s best to go through the time-consuming process of making sure your trails are legal before you build them. Otherwise you’ll be busted and the trails shut down – as well as putting protected areas at risk and damaging the image of responsible mountain bikers and sharing the land effectively.
