Ticking all the Boxes

In all the excitement of watching other people ride bikes and fixing my own, FMFT has somewhat neglected the news.

Finally we can catch up with the big issues of the day. The biggest of these was the revealing of the Olympic mountain bike track to the press. We weren’t there, but, amongst others, Future were, and here is what they thought.

Despite scepticism I would say that it’s looking pretty damn good and can’t wait for it to be opened to the public in some form so I can get a ride there after the Games.

For fans of big American bike companies there was more good news as Specialized announced a new London concept store to be opened in conjunction with Cycle Surgery. Hopefully they can run a bike shop to match the good ones I found on my mystery shopping trip and not the less-than-helpful. And on that note more mixed messages from Evans as the old crown-race hasn’t materialised (and I’m starting to worry there was a misunderstanding over the address, to give them the benefit of the doubt), but then they successfully sold me a new headset with none of the obstruction that Condor tried to place in the way.

Finally, big news for the other, now almost entirely silent, half of FMFT, as Tick Bite Prevention Week is coming on the 11th April. Prepared to be more paranoid about that trip to the countryside you’re planning.
