If You Think You're Hard Enough

I've talked before about route mapping software, including Strava, that allow you to race against your friends or people you have never met, over your favourite trails. That's all well and good but don't you wonder how you match up against the pros and against the big names of the sport?

Alternatively have you ever watched the top level downhillers and thought “sure they're fast, but are they really that quick...?” So for everyone who's ever thought that they could probably beat an Atherton over their local hill Red Bull have a new challenge.

I love the idea of the Personal Best challenge that they are launching. Gee and Rachel Atherton have set times on a number of tracks in the UK and you can go out to see how you match up to them. Currently there are tracks from Llangollen, Antur Stiniog, Moelfre, Revolution Bike Park and Bringewood, with more to come. The idea is you log your time using the Mapmyride App and the winners get a chance to hang out with Gee at an invitational race in Wales at the end of the season.

Get an idea of what you're up against as Gee's coach takes you through his training.
