Anyway, while I wasted a perfect riding day lying on a sofa in a darkened room slowly dying, there was plenty going on.
In Ireland the now annual RedBull Foxhunt took place, with Gee Atherton chasing 400 riders down a mountain in Rostrevor. This year he was beaten by 30 riders as he hit problems in crowding, a fall over the bar and apparently an ankle injury frpom last year's Rampage that he's due for surgery on in the near future. I guess that means he is unlikely to compete at this year's Rampage.
Talking Athertons, big brother Dan has been off for a ride with a legend, also sponsored by GT.
Otherwise Mark Cavendish took advantage of a break in the season to get married to Peta Todd at One Mayfair, in a ceremony that looked to have been attended by many of his GB colleagues:

Also taking advantage of a city centre, Barcelona played host to top downhillers in an urban race that included Cedric Gracia

Finally, for now, Trans-Provence wrapped up six days of racing with an overall win for Nicolas Lau, over Jerome Clemenz and Fabien Barel.
If only I'd managed to drag my destroyed body out onto a bike as well, and perhaps I should have braved the hangover and bruising after being knocked off on Friday night to do so. Still, there'll be another weekend.
