Urban and Hills

It would be unfair to suggest that people from New Zealand like to do everything with a beer, but you could be forgiven for thinking that when you see that an urban downhill in that country includes a trip through a pub.

Also it seems that urban downhill in that very outdoorsy country includes a far amount of forest.

Keeping it urban, but with more concern in the uphills, plans are afoot to expand the London bike hire scheme to the hilly Northern area of Muswell Hill with the addition of e-bikes to help the lazy riders that can't handle the big climbs of Haringey.

Wrapping up a day of stories about city biking I think the recent study showing that bikes are outselling new cars in a number of European countries is interesting. I'm not sure how conclusive it is given that the cost of a new bike is a fraction of that of a new car, that there is a much stronger second hand market in car sales than in used bikes, but it's certainly nice to see bike sales thriving.
