New Things and Old Favourites

I may have mentioned before that there are always developments in bikes, either for fashion, or practical reasons. This week has seen a few.

Trek have extended their Project One bike customisation on-line thing to mountain bikes, which means hours perfecting the perfect combination set-up and then coming up with a particularly bling pain job to top it off for your hugely expensive bike mountain bike, and then scratch it all up on the bike rack or first rock you find.

Also on the fashion end of things there seems to be a weird growth in the number of odd roll-up mudguards you can potentially get for your bike. That might at least keep your fancy Project One bike clean for a bit.

Moscow has jumped on the bike share bandwagon (never wanting to be too far behind the States, even post-Cold War, perhaps), this week as well and the jury is out on how it will fare in another clogged city, with what may be an even worse reputation for bad driving than others.

None of that is as exciting as the build-up to this:
