Bike Tech

Bike technology can range from the highly advanced to the basically simple.

At the one end of the scale here is an attachment for a child’s bike that allows them to graffiti the roads with chalk. However at the more triathlon end of the scale there’s news of an automatic gearbox system that works with electronic gear systems.

I have spent ages pointing out how I like cycling to be simple so I’m not sure an electronic automatic shift is what I’d ever want, but for lazy riders and people who want their bikes to work in an over complicated way it might be appealing.

Talking of gear shifting, Shimano are pretty good at dominating the downhill scene and aren’t shy about pointing that out:

And talking Downhill, Gee Atherton will be chasing 400 challengers down a mountain again in an effort to prove how much better he is that any of the rest of us.
