First today I strongly recommend you have a look at the premiere of Where the Trail Ends. Which is live on Red Bull's site now (until 21st September at least) I'll be watching tonight and will bring you my thoughts.
It was individual Time Trial time at the World Championships yesterday and a top ten finish for Alex Dowsett. The winner was FMFT favourite Tony Martin Which seems like a good end to a pretty bad season where he broke things and never really looked as strong as he could. Obviously the race lacked the British TT stars of Wiggins and Froome who will race on Saturday in the road race.
Women’s road cycling is notoriously underfunded across the world, and one way to address this, or at least gain some publicity could be through a crowdsourced finance scheme. It would be fantastic to see a women’s team with the same prestige as the men’s, whether that’s through a scheme like this or Dave Brailsford’s vision.
There was also less happy news that filtered through, of a rider who was on the Tour of Britain last week and died on a training ride yesterday. Victor Cabedo of Euskaltel-Euskadi was apparently riding a descent on a rough Spanish road when he collided with a car and ended up in a ravine.
