Sprinting Ahead of the Train

So as the Tour ramps up it’s worth a look at Halford’s little film about sending an amateur over some of the hardest stages. Obviously on one of their good, but not too good, bikes in the Carrerra range. You’ve probably seen the teasers in the ad breaks on ITV 4.

In the real deal there was more business as usual as Mark Cavendish showed most of his previous lead-out train that he deserved the attention, by smashing through them to a Stage win in Tournai in the World Champion rainbows.

I’m trying not to get too excited but after two stages, Wiggins is still sitting in a great position, seven seconds back in second place, and 10 ahead of Evans, so it’s lining up lovely.

Special hard-man prize goes to Tony Martin, after his crash on Sunday he was riding with a cast on a broken wrist. You don't get that sort of bravery in football, do you.

Less good news for people used to riding to London Bridge Station, as, in preparation for a sporting celebration that will heavily feature cycling, and with people being advised to ride where possible, the station has removed a whole load of bike racks.

PS if you missed it last night on Channel 4 Watch Danny MacAskill's excellent Daredevils: Life on the Edge Programme again.
