Yesterday was the first rest day on the Tour this year. This meant time to reflect on the big questions of the last couple of days.
The first question was how long would Tony Martin continue in what must be the unluckiest Tour ever with punctures in both of the time-trials, where he should have shone, and a broken wrist. It seems he was thinking the same as me as he retired from the race yesterday.
Less easily solved was the mystery of exactly what happened to Wiggo’s visor in the time trial on Monday. He left the start house with it, but arrived without.*
Any ideas?
More upsettingly there was what a bit of one of those things you almost expect but hope won’t happen as a Cofidis rider was arrested in a raid linked to doping. In drug news Lance Armstrong’s case against the USADA was thrown out by a high court judge.
