There are some people who need reminding of some basic rules today.
Firstly the sun brought out all those new cyclists who haven’t ridden all winter. You could see them everywhere with clean bikes and a slightly wobbly line round cars. So for all of these people I have a quick quiz:
What should you do at a red traffic light?
A. Stop. Always.
B. Just work out how safe it is for you and, if it’s safe, go straight through.
See, the answer is A. Always. Which some of you could do with remembering. All you do is make the Daily Mail readers right and no one wants that. On the other hand follow the alternate FMFT rule and if you want then don’t stop for any red lights, even if there’s a truck barrelling past across you. You’ll soon learn.
The other person who needs a reminder is me. I bought this chain for the bike I ride to work. It was cheap. I then stretched it beyond all use in two months. I should learn form this. Also in an additional lesson I should ensure that the chain tool I have on me fits the chain I buy to replace the cheese-chain. Luckily I eased the bike home and found another chain tool to fit the new, hopefully less dairy-based chain.
A
