In exciting news to push the pro-bike cause in America, it turns out someone has plans to put speed bumps on the usual route for the Tour of California. This should make it interesting.
Talking of a bumpy road it’s come to my attention just how rough the roads are on my way to work. You notice these things when, like me, you snap a spoke hitting a pothole. Being lazy and scared of taking the tyre off for fear of never getting it back on again I’ve just removed the old spoke and am now acutely aware of the weakened wheel and every slight bump and crack. And there are a lot. I’m sure there will be more once all the last minute financial year roadworks are done, so maybe I need to start considering suspension for the trip. Maybe all the people on cheap supermarket full sussers are onto something after all? Or maybe not.
