In what must be the least unexpected announcement since Cavendish moved to Sky the Athertons announced yesterday that they will be riding for GT Bicycles next year. This means they will be leaving long term sponsors Commencal bikes and Animal clothing, so expect a new look team in the summer, with new possibly-family member Marc Beaumont.

I’m taking a couple of days off (yes, partly to go riding) so expect more here on Monday 16th January possibly even with tales of riding and trying out new kit that I got for Christmas and needs a good going over.
