Bravery

No one can really argue that in many ways today’s professional cyclists are brave. Watching a race over a mountain stage certainly shows up their ability to bury themselves into a challenge and push beyond what the rest of us feel is normal.

However occasionally you get reminded of real bravery. People who have been able to use cycling as a way to be truly brave, to risk their lives for something they believe is right.

This story from Cycling News about Gino Bartali shows the lengths people have been to in order to fight against what they believe is wrong and how cycling, like anything, can be used as a powerful vehicle for good.
