Sick Riding

Being ill sucks. I hate that feeling of just not being able to get on with what I want to do – especially when what I want to do is be out on a bike. Even just a cold can wipe you out enough o mean that while you can sit on a bike and turn the pedals there’s no flair in your riding and you drag yourself in again feeling generally frustrated.

If you’re like me, you will also spend that ill-time cruising the Internet for new videos of other people riding. As you lie there only having to move your fingers on a laptop you start to feel the flow and like you could get out there. It’s only when you get up that you realise that, while in your head you can tear it up, in reality you’re going to struggle with even pulling on a pair of cycling shoes.

You might have gathered that the general cold bug, that’s been going around as autumn hit, has finally got me. I want to ride, I’m hoping to later in the week as well, but right now even finding the remote if I drop it off the sofa is a bit of a effort, and that doesn’t bode well for pumping the trails.
