Haters

While you’d have thought that an international sportsman would have a bit of respect for other people doing sport, it turns out that Danny Care, Harlequins and England rugby player hates cyclists enough to put a comment on twitter about it.

His tweet, “@dannycare I hate Cyclists!!!!! #getacar” was quickly picked up by various cyclists as famous as Mark Cavendish, as well as cycling publications all over the place, so that even now it’s apparently deleted his thoughts live on, on the web.

While I don’t think he remotely meant what he said, and was just irritated by a particular rider, it shows that there is a weird habit of grouping all cyclists together as a unit to be hated. And there are people out there who do genuinely mean it and like to hate, so will actually see people who ride bikes as a target for their anger. Who knows where that might lead.
