A Cycling Weekend

We’re approaching another big weekend for cycling. In the FMFT world there will be minor bike dismantling in order to take advantage, surreptitiously, of a trip out of town, but the news is even bigger elsewhere.

In case you’re new to all of this, then let me be the one to let you know that the biggest cycling event in the world, the Tour De France, is kicking off tomorrow. Whatever your favourite cycling discipline is, it’s hard not to be drawn into the event, especially with a hefty amount of British interesting the peloton this year. Follow it all here.

In the mountain biking realm there’s more to watch as the World Cup goes to Mount St. Anne for the next round. Once again Freecaster will be your best bet to see how the racing develops. Get yourself in the mood with the new episode of the Atherton Project which premiered on RedBullTV yesterday.

BMX fans can check out Matt Hoffman’s memories of Ryan Dunn from Jackass on the webpage set up to collect all of the MTV show’s star’s memories of him after his death last week.

To finish a day that I have realised I’ve littered with brand names in a desperate effort to still get sponsored for my occasional non-competitive mountain biking and regular appearances on the route to work I would like to just confirm for everyone that cycling is not only art, according to Gavin Turk, but, by the looks of Evans Cycles new “Look Book” catalogue, also fashion.

Look, there’s another brand dropped in – I hope someone’s paying attention.
