We love news of new trail centres and Mountain Biking infrastructure. Trouble is, from the picture on this BBC report, the new one planned in Blaenau Ffestiniog one seems to be from the early Nineties. Perhaps it’s planned to be a themed centre where all the riding on the new trails and 4X course has to be done on rigid bikes with flat bars and long stems while wearing day-glo lycra, and massive polystyrene helmets.
Talking of the Nineties, if you’ve always wanted a bike that a celebrated Young British Artist had thrown paint over, then your luck could now be in. Get yourself to the ICA on the 29th March and bid for your own piece of art. This appears to follow the recent trend that anything which involves a bike and an artist is in fact brilliant art.
