Film Direction

There are some things I have never thought to consider when I’m picking bike components. Luckily there are gossip websites to point out the potential problems. Don’t say we never warn you of the dangers of your inappropriate colour choices.

I’m sure I’m not the only person to be tempted to get a small video camera to document my rides to work, or down the side of some “gnarly” mountain. So far I’ve been put off by the realisation that it’d probably be great fun for about 20 minutes before I run out of anything especially interesting to film, at least on my bike. If you want the ultimate POV bike video then you could do worse than getting hold of Google’s Streetview trike to get the full 360 degree view you’ve always wanted. Alternatively you could just spend a rainy afternoon pretending to ride round National Trust properties (or, in fact, Pompeii) without leaving your desk.

Finally as regular readers will be aware we love a good bike-commute-based advertisement and it seems that an ad for Boardman bikes slipped through our net in November. This is especially upsetting as it features one of my favourite places to ride mountain bikes, at Cwmcarn. The video is below, although if you’re wondering what to do with the green and red glasses you’ve been wearing for the last few days then you can watch it here in fancy 3D.
