Yesterday was another flat day through Northern France to commemorate those who lost their lives in the First World War. The weather would again be the deciding factor, firstly with rain putting a load of riders on the floor again and leading to the retirement of yet more, including Xabier Zandiog with a suspected broken collarbone.
The wind would play a part as well as crosswinds split the bunch and made work hard for the sprinters, for whom it was another day to shine. Worst hit was Marcel Kittel who was so worn out by the effort that he was, for once, unable to compete at the end, allowing the sprint to be battled between the other fast men. Greipel powered through to take the win.
Eisel and Thomas are left in the team and took this film from inside the peloton, thanks to more cameras being fitted.
