Tour de Television

Well, ok, I might have been a bit harsh on Garmin Sharp yesterday. I guess Talansky is a reasonable shot for the Tour in the right circumstances. The Dave Millar story continues as newspaper website commenters are split between “good riddance, he's a cheat” and being genuinely sorry to see him miss a Tour de France in his last year as a pro. To fill the time he will be on the telly, just not riding:

In other news Sean Yates will be riding, bringing the number of Britons to start in Yorkshire up that little bit.

While Yorkshire is the Grand Depart, the race will be in London on Monday, where TfL are telling us over and over again about what roads are closed, where you can go to watch and how, and what public transport routes are open. I mean of course I'll forget by the time we get there, but it's nice to know.

The London transport authority has also realised that those “Cyclists Stay Back” stickers all over the back of busses and vans aren't that that friendly to the cyclists they are trying to protect. I thought they were a bit harsh but thought I was alone until I heard that they were going to scrap them. It's nice to know that, in theory at least, anyone one abike will now be treated as an equal.

I guess I should get back to watching my rear tyre to see if my puncture repair holds.
