My favourite was this story from the South West. Having been drunk for much of the weekend perhaps I shouldn't judge too harshly but everything about the story screams incompetence, from the vague plan to ride to a friend in Bideford or Ilfracombe and the failure to do anything about the locked back wheel. The thief was picked up dragging the still-locked bike, which would alert even the slowest policeman.
Elsewhere it was the Tour of Flanders which looks to have been another violent affair, leaving Geraint Thomas injured again after falling on his face. Despite this he battled on to finish eighth, behind race winner Cancellara. Sky are fighting the Classics hard this year to try and answer critics who see them as just a big Grand Tour team. Thomas will look to recover in time to race Paris-Roubaix on Sunday alongside Wiggins.
Sunday is a big cycling day as it also sees the start of the Downhill World Cup Season.
