Weekend Champions

There was a jam-packed weekend when it comes to cycling. The track World Champs were not spectacular for Team GB but at the same time there was high British success in the Spring Classics as Ian Stannard battled through the mud to win the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad.

What there was also a lot of video action that you might just be interested in. I've been waiting for an opportunity to include something from the downhill skating insanity of Crashed Ice, and it seems like they have answered my hopes as they helpfully got some bikes involved.

More standard downhill was provided by Rachel Atherton taking BMX World Champ Liam Phillips through a bit of a session, at least reminding us that while we under-perform on the track,we have many World Champions on dirt.

Talking of champions:

There was potential good news for road racers who make a habit of crashing, with lycra that might resist tearing to shreds on the road. Bad news for a mountain biker who forgot the rules about making sure you lock every part of it, and fulfilling news from Ghana as bikes make a difference to local communities.
