The End of Winter?

It's tantalisingly close to the days where you make it all the way home form work in daylight, which is a definite reward for those of us who rode through another winter. The downside is that it seems to bring out the idiots on the road. This isn't just in the form of cyclists dragging the bike out after a winter off and perhaps forgetting some of the things they should be doing on the roads, but also drivers who seem over-excited about the daylight.

On the way home, during a six mile ride, I saw two cars accelerate to go through clearly red lights and another actually push another car out of the way before driving off. Proof, if any were needed that everyone has the potential to be stupid on the roads and it's not really down to the thing you're piloting, so much as the person doing it.

Let's hope everyone calms down into the summer.
