Time for the Worlds

There will be news on the big bike experiment (I mean, don't get over excited, as you can probably imagine it's just some sort of ride that I did, with a bit of a twist).

Right now the Sports-Tracker site is down (again) and it seems silly to give you half the story without the illustration of seeing how poor a cyclist I am.

So what else is there? Well I suppose the main story was the individual TT World Champs. This was a target for the Olympic champion and Tour of Britain winner, Bradley Wiggins.

Wiggins was on form enough to mix it with the big names of time trialling and finished in the silver medal position behind Tony Martin, who takes the rainbow jersey for the third year in a row. The other name you'd expect to see in the mix, Cancellara, finished third.

Perhaps not what he hoped for, but a solid and world class ride to finish Wiggins' quiet season with some highlights.

The individual TT followed the Team Time Trial where Omega Pharma Quick Step retained their title and Sky got a solid bronze position. All eyes shift now to the men's road race on Sunday, where Chris Froome will lead the GB team to try to land another rainbow jersey.
