You think that the Downhill World Champion would be all about the “gnar” and stoked on everything, essentially all about the hardcore riding, partying and living it up. However, this is not the case.
I always press my flowers from a winning race...these are deffo' the sweetest I've pressed!! http://t.co/jQdzAmDHV2

In many ways this makes me like Rachel Atherton even more.
This allows me to move on neatly to British riders and champions, and it's not surprising, that Bradley Wiggins will lead the Sky Tour of Britain team. This should make the race even more of a spectacle and a race and it's nice to have it confirmed. If he's taking it seriously the race should be bigger than ever.
While this is good to look forward to, there is a race on at the moment in Spain and on a fairly uncommon flattish stage there was a break as ever, which was caught, then Tony Martin went, and was caught, in keeping with the general theme of the race. Roche grabbed a couple of seconds in an intermediate sprint, but finally it came down to a power-sprint between Boassen Hagen and Gilbert. Phillipe Gilbert came from a long way behind to take the stage win in some style, finally giving him a first victory in the world champion's stripes, just days before he has to defend it. He was pleased.
Less road based this kicked off:
