Tour Hits proper French Roads

No bottom bracket update today as I had no chance to attack it further, beyond fitting the bolt through it in order to hold everything in place in preparation for another attempt.

It was business as usual in the Tour with a flattish stage and a chance for a sprint into Marseilles. A break of four riders stayed out for a significant time and was reeled back apart from the final two at about 10Km to go. There was a spattering of crashes but the big sprinters stayed safe this time and looked to be lining up for the end as they ground down on the lead. The pack came back together perfectly at about 5 km to the finish and it was all on for a good old sprint with Greipel and Cav sitting pretty and Sagan in the mix. OPQS worked to make up for Cav’s disappointments earlier in the week, where it turns out he was also on antibiotics, to set him up.

Cav’s sprint, when he went, was perfectly timed to beat Greipel and Boassen Hagen and avoid a massive pile-up on the road behind. He opens his account on the 2013 Tour with a classy win, and if previous years are anything to go by we should expect plenty more as the race heads round France. Sagan finished third on the stage, keeping him firmly in green and making it a big task for Cavendish to wrestle that jersey from his shoulders.

Have a look at another video behind the scenes at Sky, this time focusing on the carers:
