Endurance

What’s been missing from the X-Games recently is dirt jumping, but the internet has been aflutter with news that it will return next year in Munich. Expect the usual insanity from the freeride guys.

In other news I’ve been meaning to pick up the latest issue of Singletrack to read the feature on cycling and depression, but in the meantime here’s the blog from endurance mountain biker Tom Hill who wrote the piece and which is well worth a read.

Back on the roads the driving force behind Team Sky and the GB cycling team, Dave Brailsford is the subject of a Sky Sports profile for those for you with that sort of subscription. Similarly I recently finished reading Bradley Wiggins’ book of his year, My Time. For anyone into cycling who you’re struggling to think of a present for this Christmas this could be ideal as it’s an honest look behind one of the most spectacular years in British cycling ever. Without spoiling the surprise, Wiggins wins both the Tour de France and the Olympic Time Trial by the end of the book. On the way there it’s an interesting view inside the team and the mind of someone who comes across as really genuine man who loves and respects the sport.

Go on give it a read, or buy it for someone and then steal it back to read.
