Film Shoot

It’s getting easier and easier to make a bike video that would challenge the early classics of the genre. As tricks get easier (by the simple rule that it’s easier to imitate than to innovate) and technology gets more accessible literally anyone can shoot some sequences and cut them together into s “sick edit”.

I mean, I even had a go.

In order to stand out you now need something a bit special. Usually this comes in the riding or the story, but this film has taken a different approach. I mean why bother with any shots of bikes for the first couple of minutes when you can have stunning time-lapse images? By the time you get to the actual bikes you’re expecting something epic, but somehow it slightly lets you down. Never mind, you can go back and watch the time-lapse again.

The one thing. I think any bike has been missing so far is any sort of protection from bullets. It really just isn’t safe to be riding anywhere without considering that you might be shot at from behind and looking for some safety. Luckily, and to everyone’s inevitable relief, a patent has been filed in the US to deal with the issue of being shot in the back as you ride away. As soon as it’s built I will definitely be considering one for those riskier rides.
