Rest Day Looking Forward

Yesterday say possibly the most needed rest day of any Grand Tour as the Vuelta relented and allowed the riders a day off from riding up walls.

They'll be back for some comparatively relaxing flat stages from today.

Given the break the cycling world could turn back to the continued revelations about Lance Armstrong with the testament of one of his former close helpers. As more and more of the mystique around Armstrong collapses it makes it increasingly concerning that all of the Vuelta peloton are clean.

It also seems like a good opportunity to look forward and the first event that should be on your calendar is the Paralympic Road Cycling that kicks off at Brands Hatch today. After the success on the track, look forward to more to come from the varied road events.

To finish a shortish post today let’s also look forward to this:

Which starts on Sunday as the Vuelta finishes and will feature some of the biggest names in British cycling, in something of a lap of honour for their stunning year.
