Tantrums and Trials.

In Tour news there was fallout from Wednesday’s stage to cover before the business of Thursday and two Hors Catagorie climbs to deal with.

Cancellara left the Tour to be at the birth of his child, which is a shame for the race, but good for him.

Wiggins was accused by Nibali of being unsporting by giving him “a look” and a gesture, which is slightly ironic as Evans (despite consistently giving the worst post-race interviews of any rider) accused Nibali of also being unsporting and attacking as a crash occurred.

Still, it’s all a distraction from the doping accusations.

And then there was Stage 11 where Sky continued to dominate up the Madeline, with a team which, according to all sources has nothing less then super-domestiques. Evans attacked and cracked, Nibali attacked and Wiggins nearly cracked bringing him back but then Sky held it together to a result that keeps Wiggins in yellow, with the almost unthinkable British 1-2 completed with Froome in second place. Evans slips to 4th with yet more time put between him and Bradley. Frenchman Rolland took the win as French cycling looks stronger and stronger, but it really was a day for British cycling as Sky calmly dominated. Nibali is now arguably the major rival for the race lead.

In other racing news Ben Swift won a stage of the Tour of Poland in style.

It's almost a shame to be taking a weekend break, but let's hope for more of this next week.

In other news, which I’m struggling to fit in, but can’t really hold over for three weeks, there is a project in Washington DC to map all the abandoned bikes in the city, which sounds to me like an endless task.

There's also news that Gee Atherton might be be badly injured.

And this. Just spend a fun ten minutes with your mouth open…
