Pasties and Palaces

Yesterday was 1st April and the bike business rolled out some April fools as ever. The best I saw was from bikeradar.

Strangely a lot of my riding is, in fact, powered by pasties, so I could utterly buy into this!

Talking of my riding I was taking on more Thames valley routes and enjoying them. The first was out of Goring, which I was pleased to learn was the best village in the South East at some point in the recent past. It also has a decent carpark and provided a good start point for a ride that looped up from the river and then back again, taking in over 30km of incredible houses, fun bridleways and road links, including a fun final section above the river on a rolling trail.

Once again I was following the excellent book by Nick Cotton, which asked some questions (from my copied directions so as not to damage the book):

The answers to these were, in my case, Yes. And er, what steps, but guessing where they used to be, yes,and yes again.

Otherwise there are worse ways to enjoy the first days of Spring.
