The end of last week saw some sad cycling news as it was announced that HTC-Highroad would be folding after failing to agree a new sponsorship deal. This is a shame as it sees the end of the team that had brought loads to the pro peloton, including bringing the Tour de France green jersey to Britain in this year’s race.
This morning, or sometime soon I imagine there will be an announcement from Mark Cavendish and other members of the team as to where they will be going next season, and it is widely rumoured that Team Sky is the most likely one to pick up the sprinting star. Watch out for updates here.
In the meantime north London seems to have jumped back into the 80s and FMFT enjoyed a weekend involving more boats than bikes, so expect more bike news as the week goes on.
