Once again FMFT will be taking a slight break and will return on Tuesday the 26th July. Regular followers probably knows that this often means an exciting ride report to come, and you’d be right, so look forward to what I hope I can bring you then.
In the meantime I don’t like to think of any of you being bored without a bit of cycling in your life, especially as I’m leaving you right at the end of the Tour de France.
Hopefully by the time I return you’ll have seen a dramatic finish on the Champs Elysée as Cavendish takes another stage win, and the green jersey. I’m keeping my fingers crossed and it also brings me nicely onto my first exciting link of the day.
I know that as a blog I’ve been excellent at reviewing films several months or years after they actually came out, or were relevant, but I’m going to do it again. Therefore, I think you should watch Chasing Legends, which gives you an idea of what goes on behind the scenes on a professional race team as it follows HTC Columbia on the 2009 Tour de France. What makes this news is that it was shown on ITV4 the other day and therefore is still on their ITV Player service for the next 20 days or so. Get some cake and your preferred drink and settle in to enjoy it.
If you’re not really on the HTC Columbia/Highroad (leadout) train then maybe you’d rather see what happens behind the scenes on Team Sky Procycling and see something of the life of their mechanics.
All that was quite lycra and carbon-based, so for something a bit more close to home and less frantically paced I’m sure you’d like news on the Met Police’s bicycle theft task force? Well, it turns out it’s been reasonably successful, which is excellent news for those of us with bikes in the Capital.
See you on Tuesday.
