Time for another quick break from Welsh riding and some news from the cycling Internet.
Earlier in the week I mentioned the World Naked Bike Ride, but it seems this is far form the most distracting way to dress when riding a bike. What is far more dangerous to all other road users is to ride in a short skirt, according to a New York cop, at least.
On the subject of unwarranted tickets, you’ve probably already seen this video, but it’s worth another look.
As we’re talking fashion and style here then it’s worth mentioning that bikes are apparently now the hottest accessory to use in advertising. I’ve mentioned this before, but it seems that bikes are now the Thing To Use if you’re targeting the young and trendy. On that note a flamingo seems to make anything better, including bikes.
Less stylish, but still very much on-trend are the many bike hire schemes that major cities now can’t do without. London is having problems at the moment with people being billed wrongly for the journeys they are making, and TfL is desperate to get them fixed, perhaps in light of a new scheme from car-rental company Hertz to hire out electric bikes. It’ll be like riding a bike around London with none of the effort.
