Wine Racks, Wooden Bikes, Locks and other Wedding Presents

Welcome back to work and to our catch-up on the news.

You might have noticed that a wedding happened on Friday and be wondering what the bike angle on it all could be? Well, Boris Johnson’s wedding present from the city of London to the Royal couple was a Boris-bike tandem. So expect to see them out on the streets on it, probably.

If the couple are still celebrating, then they will undoubtedly be wanting to accessorise the bike with this handy wine-rack. Why anyone really needs one is beyond me, but I suppose there’s a growing group of people simply riding to barbeques and dinner parties with, up to now, nowhere to put their wine.

Also in the “why, exactly” category, but actually much cooler, in my opinion is this all-wooden bike that was kicking around the news last week. I really like it – but there’s no way I can see that it’s going to be nice to ride. Imagine the issues when the road, or track, gets slippery, and I dread to think how the mountain-bike version they must surely be designing now, will deal with slippery roots.

Finally today, in the never-ending battle to not have your bike stolen there is a new player. The TiGr not only has a snappy name but looks pretty cool. Have a look at this different-looking lock here, and you even have the chance to get involved in making it a product you can buy if you’re the investing type…
