No sooner do we identify a problem than the solution turns up.
It was only on Friday that I spoke of the problem of exploding BMX inner tubes (clearly through no fault of the silent part of FMFT, at all), and now I have the answer in the form of these bumpy tubes from Michelin, which apparently will seal rather than pull apart if they’re compromised. This could be good as long as the weight and stuff doesn’t make them a bit silly for riding seriously on. Either way it’s good that tyre manufacturers haven’t given p on making things that won’t leave you walking home after a few minutes.
Now all we need is a solution to the issue of based-up shins, which may or may not be in the form of shinpads and learning to ride better.
Incidentally, I was upset to find out that the level we have achieved collectively on BMXs could be summarised in the first few seconds of a how-to BMX for beginners’ video, before several minutes of things I can’t see me managing any time soon.
