Ups and Downs

For those of you eagerly following the unfolding fork saga, I have been reading various websites in an effort to be fully prepared for my new arrival. In particular this was very helpful in the bash-things-with-wood, rather than shell out for new tools category. This is the sort of bike maintenance I like. I now have more confidence and am looking forward to a new bouncing delivery.

I might not be the only one. It turns out that Sussex Council can’t afford to resurface the roads on the Olympic road race route and so maybe a number of the peloton might be considering suspension in order to cope with the potholes. In other Olympic news, a large number of specialist publications will be effectively blocked from covering their events as the Olympic committee is restricting the number of press-passes available. Have a look at this from the SingletrackWorld Forum. This seems somewhat strange as surely the specialist coverage of these more niche sports is what will broaden the appeal of the Olympics.

While I am without a front end to my bike I am seriously considering taking up this “new” sport form Pakistan. I am, unfortunately, rubbish at wheelies (or “one-wheeling”) and so might have to give up the opportunity to annoy the authorities.
