A few days ago I mentioned seeing a proper middle class bike in North London, so imagine my surprise when I saw another example of the same type of statement bike, not more than a couple of miles from the first one.
This some it was a Pashley Tricycle with reverse facing child seats. Something like this one. It seems that there’s a trend towards distinctly stylish, statement-making bikes and amongst north London families of a particular class. That is, as long as seeing two bikes in a week is a trend.
Sticking with classic bikes and design, to an extent, the famous velodrome at Herne Hill is in need of some money to save it and make it worthy again of it’s historical significance. It would be a terrible shame to see it sink into disrepair, so we are fully behind the campaign to save it.
Once again we have to report a slight break in transmission from FMFT. We are off to “abroad” again and will return on Tuesday 26th October with the odd tale of cycling from the home of the Velib, Paris.
