Cycling. On Posters. Look.

Sometimes a walk along the route that you normally ride is the best way to see how popular cycling actually is. Not only was I overtaken as I walked home form watching England finally win a game in the World Cup by loads and loads of people on bikes, of varying abilities, but the signs all over the route were all about cycling as well.

Apparently we’re right in the middle of Islington Bike Week. This was news to me, but many banners were keen to let me know that this was the case. Here you can see that it is definitely Bike Week, but the internet doesn’t exactly give any more information. Maybe it’s my lack of internet knowledge, but I’ve struggled to find any information on it,

Also it’s clear that Sky are all over cycling. They sponsor a major professional team and a whole load of amateur events in British cycling. What’s surprising is that they are heavily advertising their brand based on their cycling links. Look, here’s a poster and everything.
