We all know nutrition is important in cycling.
Professional cyclists burn through thousands of calories in a race and their intake is finely balanced before, during, and after any event to ensure that they can perform at their very best.
Even for the average person riding for fun, or to get around it’s still important to make sure you’ve eaten and drunk enough. Most bikes come with mounting bosses for a bottle cage, so that you can carry a drink with you and not have to stop in order to stay hydrated.
You should always be careful to balance out any healthy habits, like cycling or drinking water, with some vices. How can you enjoy either without some payoff? Recently FMFT discovered what might well be the answer to this fine balance. Using the bottle cage this cyclist has decided to combine his riding with enjoying a strong lager.
Perhaps this isn’t the ideal scenario, and the police might have some words on the matter if he was to cruise past with his Special Brew in a drinking position, or if he were to discard the empties in a race style, by simply flinging them to the side of the road, but it’s certainly one approach to on-bike nutrition.
The vigilant amongst you will have spotted another FMFT milestone. This is the 200th post here. I suggest you all lift your Special Brew from your bottle cage and toast this achievement as you ride the streets.
