FMFT Summer Trip - Fort William World Cup

FMFT are off on another trip.

Don’t get jealous, this will be a purely fact-finding mission on behalf of you, our readers, in order to get the lowdown on various parts of the UK, and absolutely not to have any fun, at all, on mountain bikes, in some of the top riding spots of the UK. As such we will have much to tell you when we return on the 10th June, and certainly won’t have enjoyed any of it.

As well as reports on the trails we will be riding on our road-trip, we will be able to bring you our exclusive views of one of the most exciting and best bike events in the country. That’s right – we might have hinted non-subtly for a while, but we can now reveal that we are off to watch the Mountain Bike World Cup round at Fort William, and bring you all the fun of the Downhill Rock and Roll. It might fly in the face of the sensible advice I read on a high-viz jacket this morning (“If it’s not safe, don’t do it”) but that should make it all the more fun.

Internet access allowing, we may manage to bring you some news from the event itself, but in the event of a failure of technology in the remote north then you too can almost be there thanks to the free coverage on Freecaster.tv.

While we’re away you might be interested in some activities to keep you interested. One suggestion might be to get involved in the TfL London Cycle Challenge with a team of people, to see if you can ride the furthest in June. On the other hand, just get out there and ride in what, for the sake of our camping sanity, hope will be good weather.
