It’s amazing what four days of eating too much chocolate, drinking far too much beer and generally doing no exercise can do to your ride to work. Suddenly things can seem just a touch harder and the sprint between the lights is a bigger strain on your chest and legs. Still, I always find something nice in the times you exercise and you can really feel it pushing your body. It’s true even if the pushing is simply against a long weekend of alcohol and chocolate abuse. In fact it’s the best way to make yourself feel that the ride to work is achieving something in making you fitter.
In this way the FMFT fitness plan might well involve guaranteed results by following this simple plan:
- Use all the money you would have spent on a gym membership to buy booze over a weekend.
- Ride to work during the week and notice a marked improvement in your health as the week progresses in terms of fewer chest pains, and an increase in energy.
Although you should note that this may be more down to the alcohol being processed out of your body rather than the real benefit of cycling.
FMFT also accepts no responsibility for any heart attacks that might result from any part of our entirely non-scientific fitness plan.
