Signposting bike routes seems to often be a somewhat hit and miss affair. I’ve often followed a route only to find the signs run out or are just not exactly where they should be to actually tell you where to go. I’ve never seen anything quite as confusing as this signpost which could conceivable mean that you can go anyway you want, or that someone just had a load of the signs left over when they got to the end of marking the route. Maybe they’ve been parked there just in case they’re needed somewhere.
Maybe some signs would have been useful in this ad, although it seems that they did indeed intent to pretend to ride down the side of the building in question. The internet is awash with people calling it as a fake, which seems a shame when there’s a load of dramatic stunts going on for real on bikes.
Perhaps what we really need is signposts to events like this launch for H&M, where bikes were included in the fashion fair along with ducks and chariots, and a whole load of lingerie.
